Description
Lord Krishna sits cross-legged with the Hearding Stick laid diagonally across the body and butter held in the raised hand wearing a pagdi. Tripundra is scored in three lines across the brow, and the ear rings are cast as part of the head rather than hung from it.
Oxidation is left deep in the hair, the folds and the ground between the arms, while the face, forearms and knees are polished back, so the figure reads at arm's length despite its size. The fork of the stick stands proud of the outline on one side, which is what breaks the silhouette.
A flat tapered bail on a jump ring sits behind the topknot and holds the figure upright. The reverse is left hollow, so the piece stays light for its bulk and lies close against the chest.
