Description

The band is drawn from a single round section of sterling silver and left open, the two ends carried past each other so the kada wraps rather than closes. Each end is collared in granulated beadwork and tapers into an openwork panel. At the front the ends meet behind a trishul, its central disc carrying an Om; a damroo lies across the trishul as two ribbed cones meeting at a waist, with a third eye worked at the join and a rudraksha bead capping each drumhead.

The length of the band is left satin, so light travels along it without a hard edge, while the oxidised recesses in the trishul, the ribbing of the damroo and the beaded collars hold shadow and keep the detail legible at arm's length. The rudraksha sit matte against the silver, their ridges reading as texture rather than shine.

There is no clasp. The open ends take a small adjustment, so the kada passes over the wrist and settles with the trishul across the back of the hand. Rudraksha is worn devotionally across India, and the beads are set proud of their caps here so the seed stays in view rather than buried in metal.
